Vanity plates are narcissistic

is it ironic that a Corvette has this license plate?

Before states charged car owners for registration and license plates, some cites got greedy and started their own vehicle tax and registration plates

this is just one of the interesting olf things that a guy has inherited from his families stuff... his grandparents kept everything, and when weeding out the junk from the interesting, he decided to make a website of the more interesting things, and do a bit of research to learn about the rare and unusual items.

and more remarkable, that gentleman on the far side of the car, with the white motorist jacket... was one of the team that found and brought the Peerless down from the mountain http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2008/07/old-man-of-mountain.html

Have you ever seen as many of the early brass registration tags on one vehicle? I haven't! I've never seen more than one. The one on the far right indicates (and the owner told me) that this was used as a bus... tourist type, from Tonopah to Goldfield I think he said.. they are Nevada towns that were the hub of the goild rush between 1900 and 1902 http://www.rockhounds.com/rockgem/articles/tonopah_goldfield.html
the above and one of the below are this same car, the one on the far left below is a Pope race car

A plumbing company excavating the former site of a Packard dealership in Santa Ana recently dug up about 50 matched pairs of license plates, some sequential numbers. Leftovers that didn't get registered that year? Shady business from the loading dock? We'll never know.

Found in Hot Rod Delux magazine. Awesome magazine

Trusting that having the right color registration sticker will fool the cops... busted, because I look at these when stuck in traffic

That red decal, which appears to be 2006, is the same color as the currently legal 2011 red color sticker. That some of the red was accidentally peeled away exposing the yellow one behind it made me look close to see why some was missing. Poor technique I guess.

Some people collect the whole set of colored registration stickers
