Depois do requinte da série especial Unique, lançada no início deste mês, a linha do Nissan Sentra tem outra novidade: o sedã médio produzido no México passa a contar agora com a versão SR. Equipada com itens que ressaltam a esportividade, a novidade é sucesso nos mercados dos Estados Unidos, Canadá e México. Esta opção está sendo lançada no Brasil em uma edição limitada de 800 unidades, com preço entre R$ 57.490 e R$ 62.790.

Disponível em duas opções de transmissão – manual de seis marchas ou XTRONIC®CVT –, o Nissan Sentra SR tem itens que deixam o sedã mais jovial e agressivo. Entre eles, as saias laterais, o para-choque traseiro esportivo, o aerofólio com luz de freio em LED (exclusividade da versão), lanternas e farois com máscara negra e logotipo “2.0 SR” na tampa do porta-malas. “Com o mesmo conjunto mecânico do restante da linha, o Sentra SR traz itens estéticos que dão um ‘banho de loja’ em nosso carro de passeio topo de linha”, explica Anderson Suzuki, gerente de Produto da Nissan do Brasil. “É uma opção que atrai aquele consumidor que gosta de projetar seu estilo no exterior”, completa.

A versão SR será oferecida nas cores preto e prata, com um mix de 70% para o câmbio XTRONIC®CVT e 30% para a transmissão manual. A novidade é parte da estratégia da Nissan de sempre oferecer novidades aos seus clientes, tornando seus produtos mais atraentes e atualizados com as tendências do mercado. No caso do Sentra, esta é a segunda em pouco menos de um mês.

Além das novidades, o Sentra SR é equipado desde a versão manual com importantes itens de conforto, segurança e tecnologia. Assim, o proprietário da versão conta com, piloto automático, volante com acabamento em couro e regulagem de altura, vidros dianteiros e traseiros elétricos com função “um toque” para vidro do motorista rodas de liga leve de 16”, faróis de neblina, freios ABS com controle eletrônico de frenagem (EBD), Airbags frontais para motorista e passageiro, alarme perimétrico, rádio CD Player com MP3 e display no painel, função RDS e entrada auxiliar para MP3 Player/iPod®, cabo e conector para iPod® no console central, 6 alto-falantes e controle de áudio no volante.

O Nissan Sentra SR é equipado com o moderno motor 2.0 16V Flex, com bloco em alumínio e com sistema de variação da abertura das válvulas através de variador de fase CVVTCS (de Continuosly Variable Valve Timing Control System). Ele gera 143 cavalos a 5.200 rpm, independentemente do combustível (álcool/gasolina). Sua curva de torque é constante e muito suave, inclusive nas rotações mais baixas. Seu bom rendimento é comprovado com a obtenção de 90% do torque máximo (20,3 kgfm) a somente 2.400 rpm, o que aumenta o prazer de dirigir. Com o câmbio manual de seis marchas, o Sentra pode oferecer uma “tocada” mais esportiva na condução, de acordo com a vontade do motorista.

Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors Expand OEM Business in Japan

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation have announced that the two companies have agreed to expand the scope of their OEM supply agreements in the Japanese market as follows:

Nissan will provide the Fuga luxury sedan to Mitsubishi Motors starting from summer 2012.
The two companies have started deliberations on the provision of Mitsubishi Motors' MINICAB-MiEV commercial mini EV to Nissan in fiscal year 2012.

The two new OEM project agreements are part of the core agreement signed in December 2010 to expand cooperation between the two companies. These new projects follow on a prior agreement for Nissan to provide the NV200 Vanette compact van to Mitsubishi Motors starting from October 2011, together with the establishment of the joint venture NMKV Co., Ltd., in June 2011. These initiatives are intended to strengthen the competitiveness of both companies in Japan.

Nissan Versa vem para o Brasil

Nissan Leaf sales to start in Sweden

Nissan LEAF has finally arrived in Stockholm. In the coming week, the award-winning vehicle is available for test drives for everyone in Medborgarplatsen in the centre of Stockholm. The Nissan LEAF tour is just a teaser of what is to come - start of sales is planned to be kicked off before the year end 2011.

The Nissan LEAF has recently been awarded with five stars in EuroNcap, making it one of the safest cars in Europe. Nissan LEAF as also been honored with the title Car of the year in both the global and European competition.

LEAF is a sleek four door hatchback, powered by a compact electric motor propelling the front wheel drive. The AC motor develops 80 kW of power and 280 Nm of torque, enough for a maximum speed of 145 km/h. The electric motor is powered by a Nissan-developed laminated lithium-ion battery with an output of more than 90 kW.

The car has a range between charges of 175 km as tested over the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) making it an attractive and practical alternative for many urban drivers. Recharging from empty to 100% can be done in eight hours with a normal charger and in about 30 minutes from empty to 80% using a quick charger in optimal conditions.

At 329 990 SEK (incl. VAT and the newly announced "supergreen" incentive), the European and World Car of the Year will cost about the same as a regular compact family hatchback, but with considerably lower running costs. The price includes the battery (which carries a five-year/100,000 km warranty), a five-year subscription to the unique telematic service, and EV specific roadside assistance. Running costs in Sweden are estimated at less than 16 SEK per 100 km. The price of Nissan LEAF without incentive is 369 900 SEK.

Nissan LEAF comes fully equipped with air conditioning, satellite navigation, rear-view parking camera, a quick charge socket and innovative smart-phone connectivity that will allow users to heat or cool the interior of the car remotely via a mobile phone allowing for better range management.

The car also comes equipped with the following items for the Nordic climate:

• heated front seats
• heated rear seats
• heated mirrors
• heated steering wheel
• battery heating system

"Nissan LEAF appeals on many levels; it's a zero-emission electric car with ultra-low running costs but it is also a practical, family-size car and fun to drive. That's a powerful combination, and Nissan LEAF is already attracting significant interest from prospective customers," says Guillaume Cartier, Managing Director, Nissan Nordic Europe. "We were pleased to hear that the Swedish government has announced to support zero emission mobility."

Norway and Denmark have announced sales will start in autumn. The first deliveries in Sweden are expected to start at the first quarter of 2012.

A Nissan do Brasil está lançando a série limitada Sentra Unique, desenvolvida para oferecer exclusividade e refinamento em detalhes como o interior em tom claro. Com um lote limitado em 300 unidades, o Nissan Sentra Unique tem preço sugerido de R$ 69.990 e estará nas concessionárias da marca nos próximos dias.

O Nissan Sentra Unique traz todo o conforto, desempenho e requinte da versão topo de linha SL, na qual é baseada, mas com um toque extra de sofisticação. A série limitada difere-se principalmente por trazer o acabamento do interior em bege, deixando o modelo em linha com o que se oferece em segmentos superiores. “Quem conhece o Sentra, vai saber que é a versão Unique já na primeira olhada devido ao interior diferenciado”, afirma Anderson Suzuki, gerente de Produto da Nissan do Brasil.

Segundo Suzuki, muitas empresas renomadas de vários segmentos da indústria costumam colocar itens únicos em seus principais produtos com o objetivo de oferecer a exclusividade àqueles que gostam de se diferenciar. “A Nissan está sempre atenta às tendências. E o Sentra Unique é resultado disso, pois os mercados interno e mundial estão cada vez mais preferindo o interior com acabamento claro em veículos mais luxuosos”, diz.

Além dos painéis das portas e bancos de couro na cor bege, que ampliam a sensação de espaço, o Sentra Unique traz outros itens desenvolvidos especialmente para torná-lo diferenciado. Nissan March SR a versão apimentada do March

O Nissan March, primeiro carro popular japonês do Brasil, irá contar em sua linha com uma versão mais agressiva no visual. Trata-se do March SR, que será a opção mais completa da gama e contará, além do motor bicombustível 1.6 16V, com equipamentos e acessórios exclusivos.

Previsto para estar nas revendas em novembro, o Nissan March 1.6 16V SR será equipado de fábrica com retrovisores externos exclusivos, ponteira de escapamento cromada, rodas de liga leve e kit aerodinâmico, entre outros itens.

O Nissan March chega ao mercado brasileiro, em outubro, na versão 1.0 16V, com preço inicial abaixo de R$ 30 mil.

First Canadian Nissan LEAFs Sold Out within two hours

Over the weekend, Nissan Canada opened the reservation process for the Nissan LEAF, with all Model Year 11 inventory reserved by Canadian consumers within two hours. At noon on Saturday, August 27th, those registered at www.nissan.ca/leaf and living within the vicinity of one of the 27 Nissan LEAF certified dealers, were invited to reserve a Nissan LEAF, bringing them one step closer to having the all-electric car plugged into their home garage.

"Response from Canadians since we first revealed the Nissan LEAF in 2009 has been astounding so we're not surprised that our first inventory of 40 model year '11 cars were snapped up so quickly," said Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada, Inc. "We expect this momentum to continue when we reopen reservations for model year '12 cars in the coming month, so keep your eyes open for more and more Nissan LEAFs driving around Canadians cities soon."

Delivery to the first wave of consumers will begin in September and continue into the fall. Nissan is carefully managing the purchase process from the first step, when consumers sign up on www.nissan.ca/leaf, until the customer drives the Nissan LEAF home and plugs it into a personal charging dock. Through Model Year 12, Nissan expects to release around 600 Nissan Leaf on the Canadian market through several waves of reservations into next year.

Nissan March por menos de R$ 30 mil

Depois de confirmar que o March, que será o primeiro compacto popular japonês do mercado brasileiro, irá custar menos de R$ 30 mil na versão de entrada, a Nissan divulga informações adicionais sobre a versão 1.0.



O Nissan March trará um nível surpreendente de equipamentos de série por um preço inicial abaixo dos R$ 30 mil. Entre os itens que virão de fábrica em todas as versões estão airbag duplo, computador de bordo, ar quente e ajuste de altura do banco do motorista. Acompanhando o padrão Nissan, o compacto também terá três anos de garantia e dois anos da assistência 24h do Nissan Way.



O Nissan March 1.0 estará disponível em duas versões de acabamento: 1.0 e 1.0S, que terão também dois pacotes de opcionais. O March 1.0S mais completo custará menos de R$ 35 mil quando as vendas começarem, em outubro. Preços, especificações e detalhes técnicos das versões 1.0 e 1.6 serão divulgados próximo ao início das vendas oficiais do modelo.

Nissan Frontier Attack está de volta

A atitude e o estilo marcante da Nissan Frontier Attack estão de volta. Produzida pela primeira vez entre 2005 e 2008, a versão da geração anterior da picape tinha como destaques a força e a potência, atributos que agora se somam ao refinamento e o design moderno e robusto da Frontier atual. Com três opções de acabamento (SE 4×2, SE 4×4 e LE 4×4), a Nissan Frontier Attack estará nas concessionárias Nissan de todo o país a partir deste mês com preços sugeridos entre R$ 93.990 e R$ 127.490.



A Nissan Frontier Attack volta ao mercado trazendo equipamentos que valorizam o design, o conforto e o custo-benefício. Entre os itens que a tornam diferenciada estão rodas de liga leve aro 16 na cor Titanium; farois com máscara negra; pneus All Terrain (50% asfalto e 50% fora de estrada); adesivos “Frontier” no rack de teto e “Attack” nas laterais da caçamba; para-choque traseiro preto ou cromado; console central e acabamento dos comandos dos vidros elétricos na cor prata; bancos com padronagem em duas cores; volante e manopla do câmbio com revestimento em couro; controle do iPod; entrada USB; entre outros. Mas não é apenas no estilo que a Frontier Attack chama a atenção. De acordo com Tiago Castro, gerente-chefe de Marketing, a série Attack conquistou os consumidores brasileiros em sua primeira edição e, por isso, tornou-se referência na linha da picape média Nissan. “Ela tem um ‘sabor diferente’, que agrada aos consumidores. Desta forma, decidimos trazê-la de volta, pois é um nome forte. E nada melhor do que aliar seu sucesso e qualidades à atual Frontier, um produto refinado, moderno e reconhecido pelos consumidores e jornalistas especializados”, diz.



A consolidação do sobrenome Attack ocorreu entre 2005 e 2008, quando a opção foi lançada pela primeira vez como série especial da versão anterior da Frontier nacional. Inicialmente a Nissan colocou no mercado, em setembro de 2005, um lote de 800 unidades. Como a aceitação dos consumidores e concessionários foi boa, a marca decidiu estender sua produção até 2008. Na época, a Attack correspondia a 30% do mix da picape, mas na nova versão haverá aumento deste porcentual. “Acreditamos muito na receita da Attack, de ser um carro mais ‘parrudo’ no visual. Por isso, a Nissan Frontier Attack 2012 deverá responder por 40% do total da linha”, explica Castro.

Nissan delivers first Leaf in France

Nissan West Europe brings electric mobility to France with delivery of the country's first 100% electric Nissan LEAF.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerbaud took delivery of their white Nissan LEAF at NISSAN COURIANT in Aix-en-Provence on August 2nd. This groundbreaking moment represents France's first delivery of the 2011 European and World Car of the Year. This early delivery is also a demonstration of the company's effort to recover from the natural disaster of March 11th in Japan and the readiness of Nissan's EV dealer network in France.

Carine Gerbaud will mainly use her Nissan LEAF for daily commuting to her workplace. As she drives 80km per day on average, the Nissan LEAF's homologated range of 175km with a full charge is sufficient to cover her needs. Philippe Gerbaud said that their decision to buy an electric vehicle was not only to "preserve the environment" but also driven by the particularly low running costs the Nissan LEAF offers: less than 2€ per 100 km in France compared with about €7 for a similarly-equipped diesel family car.

"We've been spending 400€ per month at the petrol station. From now, we should only pay 60€ per month in electricity. The extra cost of the vehicle will be recovered in one year after which the monthly fuel saving can be used as a contribution towards the monthly finance repayments" explains Mr. Gerbaud.

The price of the 100% electric Nissan LEAF is €30,990 in France, after incentives and including the batteries which benefits from a five-year/100,000 km warranty. The French government's incentive for electric vehicles amounts to 5,000 euros. In order to make electric motoring even more accessible to individual customers in France, the Nissan LEAF is also available through a private finance scheme

Eric Couriant from Nissan Couriant in Aix-en-Provence applied to become a certified EV dealer because he believes "Nissan is making history by bringing sustainable mobility to the mass market and we wanted to be part of it". "Most customers testing the Nissan LEAF are very positively surprised by the performance, the comfort, the roominess and the range of the Nissan LEAF." Mr. Couriant added.

Nissan Couriant in Aix-en-Provence is one of the 14 certified EV dealers (along with Chambourcy, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Marseille, Maurepas, Montpellier, Nantes, Nice, Nîmes, Paris 12ème , Perpignan, Strasbourg, Toulouse) to sell the Nissan LEAF in France. This list is expected to grow rapidly in the near future.

Nissan says electric car can power family home [video]

Nissan's Leaf electric car can feed power from its battery back into a family home and run appliances for up to two days under a new project the Japanese car-maker unveiled Tuesday.
Using the "Leaf to Home" system, the lithium-ion batteries of the zero tailpipe emission Leaf can be used as an emergency power backup for the home during a natural disaster or a power blackout, Nissan said.

Nissan, 44 percent owned by Renault of France, said it aims to commercialize the technology in Japan by March 2012.

The system works by linking the car via a quick charging port to the house's electricity distribution panel. Power can also be fed the other way if the house generates its own electricity with rooftop solar panels.

The Leaf batteries have a capacity of 24 kilowatt hours when fully charged, equivalent to the electricity used by the average Japanese household in two days, said the company.

The output from the vehicle comes to six kilowatts, enough to power electricity-guzzling appliances such as a refrigerator, air conditioner and washing machine at the same time, the company said.

Nissan says as well as its potential use in blackouts, the car can be charged during night time off-peak hours and the electricity used by households during high-demand periods.

Nissan has slammed BBC show Top Gear for its unflattering and, it claims, 'unfair' review of its new electric car. The motor company insists its Nissan Leaf electric car was not given a fair chance in Sunday's episode, when it was shown breaking down after running out of juice in Lincolnshire. This left presenter Jeremy Clarkson 'stranded' and co-host James May having to get out and push.

Nissan has accused Top Gear of misleading viewers by deliberately running down the battery, and says a monitoring system installed on the car can prove it. The telematics device showed the battery was at 40 percent when Clarkson set off on his journey. But Nissan says the car was fully charged when it handed it to the BBC with enough power to go 100 miles and not the mere 30 it lasted.

Its executive vice-president, Andy Palmer, told the Times that it appeared the car had been driven in loops for more than 10 miles around Lincoln to flatten the battery.

But the BBC has denied that Sunday night's episode misled viewers. "The point of the film was to show how bad the charging infrastructure is in the UK. The car needed to run out of charge so that it could be demonstrated," a spokesperson told The Times.

Nissan to invest $68M to add Leaf motor production to US plant [video]

Nissan Americas today confirmed that, starting in early 2013, it will produce the electric motor for the Nissan LEAF at its Decherd, Tenn., powertrain assembly plant.

Preparation of the plant for electric motor production, facilitated by U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Incentive Program loan funds, will include addition of a new assembly line and will create up to 90 new jobs.

When the new assembly line is completed, the plant will have the capacity to produce up to 150,000 electric motors annually for Nissan LEAFs, which will be built at the company's assembly plant in Smyrna, Tenn.

"Nissan's Tennessee operations are paving the way to a zero-emission future for everyone," said Bill Krueger, vice chairman of Nissan Americas. "By delivering motors for the first mass-produced electric vehicles manufactured in the United States, our Decherd plant will play a vital role in making zero-emission mobility a reality for American consumers."

The work to support the electric motor assembly line represents the fifth addition to Nissan's Decherd operations, which began production in 1997. The new assembly line will be located within the existing facility using 100,000 sq.-ft. of available floor space, and will feature highly automated, state-of-the-art equipment including wire winding machines, magnetization and magnet insertion equipment, varnishing and hot press equipment and test equipment.

Today, the 1.2 million sq.-ft. Decherd plant produces engines and components for Nissan vehicles built in North America, and also houses engine casting and forging operations. The plant currently has the capacity to produce 950,000 engines, 1.1 million crankshaft forgings and 192,000 cylinder-block castings annually.

Nissan will produce the Nissan LEAF and the batteries that power it at its Smyrna manufacturing complex. The advanced, lithium-ion battery plant is on track to be operational late next year at approximately the same time LEAF production is targeted to begin in Smyrna.

2012 Nissan Leaf upgraded for America

Nissan North America Inc. is expanding availability of the all-electric Nissan LEAF to U.S. consumers for the 2012 model year, with upgrades based on feedback from the thousands of owners who already have driven several millions of miles in the first 100-percent electric car for the mass market.

The Nissan LEAF, enriched with additional standard equipment including quick charging and cold-weather features for the 2012 model year, now will be available for order in the Southeastern United States and Illinois.

"Many enthusiastic consumers have eagerly anticipated ordering a Nissan LEAF of their own, and now we can make zero-emissions mobility a reality in more markets," said Brian Carolin, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Nissan North America. "In response to direct feedback from Nissan LEAF owners, the features that customers want most will come standard on the 2012 Nissan LEAF - including quick charging and cold-weather features."

Nissan on July 25 will open up the ordering process to consumers with existing reservations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

After the prioritized ordering phase for existing reservations in those markets, Nissan on Aug. 4 will open new reservations and orders to the general public, both in these new markets, as well as places where the Nissan LEAF already has been on sale (Arizona, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington). Expected delivery of the first 2012 Nissan LEAFs will begin in the fall.

The MY12 vehicle features product enhancements that incorporate feedback from early LEAF drivers, including standardizing the most popular options. These features include:
DC Fast Charge capability standard on Nissan LEAF SL: The vast majority of MY11 consumers have opted for the DC fast charge port, which allows the vehicle to be charged at 480V - reducing charging time to under 30 minutes for charging the vehicle to 80 percent from a fully depleted state. As DC fast charge stations proliferate across the country, Nissan expects this feature to become even more popular. For 2012, fast-charging capability will be standard on the SL trim level.

Cold weather features standard on Nissan LEAF: As the Nissan LEAF rolls out to U.S. markets with colder climates, cold weather features become standard equipment on all trim levels of the Nissan LEAF. These include a battery warmer, heated steering wheel, and heated seats in both the front and rear.
The manufacturer's suggested retail price of the 2012 Nissan LEAF is $35,200 for the SV trim level, and $37,250 for the SL trim level. The monthly lease price will begin at a highly competitive $369.
Nissan will expand into additional new markets as the year continues. In the fall, orders from existing reservations and new reservations will begin in Connecticut, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. By the end of the year, Delaware, Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island will be added as markets where the Nissan LEAF will be available for order.

More than 4,000 Nissan LEAFs have been delivered to U.S. customers, and Nissan, as it begins the next phase of the launch, continues to learn from them. While 82 percent have never previously owned a Nissan, a full 75 percent considered no other vehicle than the Nissan LEAF in their purchase decision. On a whole, these early adopters report that they are using the Nissan LEAF as their primary car, and driving it far more than was originally anticipated. These consumers, most of whom are highly educated and have high income levels, are technologically savvy, environmentally conscious, and consider themselves advocates for electric-car technology.

Nissan and 4R Energy Develop new Solar EV Charging System

Nissan and 4R Energy Corporation today announced that the two companies have developed a charging system for electric vehicles that combines a solar power generation system with high-capacity lithium-ion batteries. Testing of this new charging system began today at Nissan's Global Headquarters in Yokohama.

With the new charging system, electricity is generated through solar cells installed at Nissan's Global Headquarters, and is stored in lithium-ion batteries which are equivalent to four units of Nissan LEAFs. With seven charging stations (three quick charge, four normal charge) located in the headquarter grounds, the total electricity that can be generated and stored is the equivalent to fully charging approximately 1,800 Nissan LEAFs annually.

This new system will enable electric vehicles, which do not emit any CO2 when driven, to be charged through a completely renewable energy source. This is one solution to create a cycle where CO2 emissions resulting from driving is zero. By using the same lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles as stationary storage batteries, electricity can also be supplied to EVs regardless of the time of day or weather, enabling efficient use of renewable energy sources.

4R Energy Corporation, a joint venture established by Nissan and Sumitomo Corporation in September 2010, has already started tests on a compact electricity storage system installed with second-life lithium ion batteries previously used in Nissan LEAFs. Based on the outcome of this larger system, 4R Energy plans to enter the market of mid-sized electricity storage systems for commercial and public facilities.

Nissan and 4R Energy Corporation will continue various efforts to help move toward a sustainable, zero-emission society.
