AMC made some really cool cars, these examples were at the Orphan Car show in LaJolla a couple weeks ago

this is the first Mark Donahue edition I've came across

the brakes are labeled Safe Command, the shifter is labeled Shift Command... I guess marketing told the designers that everything needed to be labled " - " command

A car normally found on the "Ugliest cars made" lists... it has a look "only a ma" could love - thinks the owner

I don't think these are ugly.. different and unusual, yes, but not ugly

I finally got photos published in a major market magazine!

the magazine is Auto Enthusiast, and is made from the former independant magazine titles Musclecar Enthusiast, Chevy Enthusiast, etc etc

The SC/Rambler is the same I took photos of this spring http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/08/i-finally-got-photos-published-in-major.html

great photos on Hellformotors tumblr

You don't need me to tell you it's the Galpin Ford sponsored "Back Up Pick Up" unusual wheelstander, but you can't read that this is Lions in 1971
Briggs Cunningham at Le Mans 1950. Who is Briggs? race car driver and museum owner, and a sports car legend as he was one of the first in the 1950's to go all the way to try and win the European races as an American, like Reventon did after him, and Shelby after Reventon http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/03/le-monster-of-briggs-cunningham.html
From the movie "The Quest" http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/05/this-is-something-you-really-ought-to.html

http://hellformotors.tumblr.com for many more interesting and variety of wide range photos of race cars

original owner still drives his 1973 Javelin

Repainted once, vinyl top removed and painted white to match the side stripe, it's on it's 3rd power steering pump, 2nd set of back up/brake lights (75 bucks apiece) and 2nd set of rubber bumper guards (75 bucks apiece)

Still has the original hubcaps

When I asked him why he is still driving/owning it, he replied "Nothing wrong with it, why not?!" Damn right, nothing wrong at all with it.

First cruise of the season in Escondido

Above is one of the side streets, not the main drag. Below is the duece donation grill

Tweety bird mudflaps.. yikes.

great shifter, it's in a 50's Dodge Sierra

Great centerpiece design and dash piece over the glove box. The dual ashtrays are not unique, a few cars had them, but the clock between and the radio above turned out really well
Instantly recognizeable tail light, I like that about older cars from the 60's
